McDonald's Jobs for Teens

9/3/2015

We put together this video to help you successfully obtain a job at McDonald's. There are some things you should and shouldn't do and things you should know before an interview.

To start at the beginning, gather a list of any experiences that might help you qualify for a crew member job. Anything that you have done is worth mentioning. If you have babysat, taught children at church, participated in sports, volunteered anywhere, joined the theater group, or did chores for family or neighbors, you have gained skills that are applicable. You will need to mention this experience on your McDonald's application.

Speaking of the application, you can pick up an application at the restaurant or fill one out online. The key to having your application noticed by the store manager is to follow up. Call and ask if you can speak to him. Once you have him on the phone, politely let him or her know that you have applied and that you would be greatly interested in an interview.

Now that you have an interview appointment, you need to get ready. Refer to our interview suggestions for practice questions and answers. Different managers have different styles of questioning. If you have a strong hold of your skills and experience, you will be confident with any line of questioning.

For a list of interview tips, watch the video above. When you are ready to apply to a teen job, search our job board. There is one on the right, and there is one on this page.
